Love/Haiti.

I generally don't do puns, but this time I couldn't resist.  

Here's the latest work from the newly official Jacob Musick Graphic. Design. company.  It's unfinished (I think) and I still haven't decided which of these to use - or if I use this design at all.  

The beautiful photo was provided most graciously by Troy Livesay.  Troy and his family live in Haiti, running a ministry titled "WorldWideVillage Haiti" which I imagine has something to do with this organization.  They're currently creating what promises to be a wonderfully unique, lovely, and perhaps a bit unsettling photobook - which is available here - to support the mission.

This poster, obviously, is for the upcoming Taste of Culture: Haiti event for Local Colors.   If you're having problems with the image, the event will be July 11th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the SunTrust Plaza in downtown roanoke (click here for a map.)  Come Love Haiti.

So, anyway, consensus?  Flag version or No-Flag version?

Kindergarten Tracing.

Just finished a simple trace job for Maynard Keller  at American Financial Planning for his new Kingdom (K) business.   Essentially, if you are interested in building retirement funds for your business that are morally responsible (that don't invest in such things as pornography, cigarettes, alcohol, and the like) then Mr. Keller is the man to talk to.  

I'd like to convince him that he needs a brand new website, for both Kingdom (K) and AFP, but so far all I've done is a trace of the lo-resolution .jpg image (at top) used for a logo on the Kingdom (k) site.  Now he has a .eps which we could theoretically use to wrap around the moon.

The Newest Look

That's what we're working on.  I haven't told josh yet, but i already have ideas for a new one.   (It's likely that I'll drive him crazy before we ever make any money.)  Eventually, you'll be able to choose a design from the left bar and reload the page with another look.

I'm published!

City Magazine published my advert for the Gallery.  Excuse me, but I'm excited.

A Place to Call Home.

Josh and I are busy, busy creating my new website. You can check in on our progress at his development server.

A Website in Draft.

I've had this design in my head for a while now.  I've thought about selling it, and maybe still will, but for now it's a work-in-progress design for my own website.

The four colored blocks in the center are for navigational purposes.  They won't be stationary...  that is, they'll move or grow as the mouse rolls over them.    They'll also have images inside of them representing what they are for.  News, Home, Portfolio..  something along those lines.  

Hopefully within the next couple of weeks, this site will become real.

On Blue.

I attended the Home Educator's Association of Virginia annual convention in Richmond, and never had a chance to upload this image.  This is the final for the Pamela Jean Gallery print advertisement for Roanoke's City Magazine that I had promised to upload in a previous post.

Taste the Culture.

I'm nearly finished with this poster for the upcoming Local Colors: Taste of Culture event.  This month they're celebrating China, somewhat in remembrance of the Sichuan earthquake victims.  The event will be in downtown Roanoke in the Century Plaza on Friday the 2oth.  

In Pursuit of Purple.

Personally, I dig the purple for Susan Saandholland's work.  However we compromised and settled on a deep semi de-saturated blue which I'll upload tomorrow.  Oh, and we put the lights back behind the artwork.

I hope that it prints well, and the dark background doesn't wash out the colors of the photographs.  

Pamela Jean Gallery

In the process of building this advertisement for the Pamela Jean Gallery (115 Salem Ave. in Roanoke) showcasing the work of Susan Saandholland.  This will be published in our very own City Magazine.  I'm happy.
